Simple Ways to Remove Your Moles

by Douglas Osborne on February 10, 2010

In this article I will tell you more on the different techniques that are at your disposal. Which one is best to pick, mainly depends on the sort of mole that you want to dispose of. You could have your doctor tell you about the benefits and downsides for different mole removal procedures, and which system he believes is best for the kind of mole that you suffer with.

It’s important to remember the type and intensity of the scars, that will be the result of the procedure before decinding the one that is right. Some techniques are more distressing then others, and some leave a bigger mark after the procedure is performed.

Excision method with Stitches

This skin mole removal method involves cutting deep into the skin to remove any tissue related to the mole for removal, after which the area is stiched to avoid bleeding. This is a strategy performed for moles that are thought to be cancerous or for moles that are flat on the skin surface.

Excision with Cauterization

Though both methods are similar, this method involves burning the area using a cautery tool for excision of the mole. Stitches are not needed for this method while burning the area area prevents bleeding. This method often leaves the users dissatisfied, as this method leaves scars and also the smell of burnt skin is irritating to the nose.

Laser Removal

The latest technology, which uses laser to remove the mole. In this method, the tissues are made to evaporate without cutting or stitching. This process isn’t suggested when dealing with moles that are located very deep in the skin, since the laser light can not penetrate the skin deep enough to remove the mole fully.

Freeze Your Moles

This method is mainly used for moles that protrude above the skin. The first step is to numb the area of the mole by applying anesthetic. After the skin is sufficiently numbed, the surgeon uses a scalpel to remove the portion of the mole that’s raised above the skin. This may leave a mark of either white skin tissue, or the color the mole was.

After the mole removal process, proper care should always be taken in order to avoid any infection that would occur on the wound.
